ABOUT JOHN
“Creativity is just a state of mind”. This daily drive is what motivated my interest in art from early childhood through young adulthood and still holds true today. Building something out of nothing is what I found joy in. Whether it was with using building blocks, paper, clay, paint or generally any material I could find to create. As my interest in art became more serious, I decided to pursue a formal education and training in the arts through painting classes in high school, building a portfolio in preparation for college, graduating with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design in New York City and working within an advertising agency as a graphic artist.
As time went on, my commitment to art took a back seat to other business interests, but my desire to create never ended. Today, I enjoy both a business career as well as my medium of choice using the finest oil paints on canvas. My subject matters range from landscapes to abstract art with a slant towards expressionism. The final product objective is a culmination of subject matter, color schemes, size and where the painting will be displayed. I often tell my clients if they prefer something more abstract rather than realistic: select a subject matter that has personal memory. Then, I let my creative process take over.
